What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work, such as a shopping basket. Others count visits or follow you across sites to show you adverts. Similar technologies, such as local storage in the browser, are treated the same way under the law.
Cookies on this site
None. We don't use analytics, advertising pixels, social media buttons or embedded content from other companies, and we don't store anything in your browser's local storage.
Cookies on partner sites
When you click an affiliate link, for example to compare car hire or see a tour, you leave this site. The partner then sets its own cookies on its own website, so that it can tell a booking came from us. Those cookies are covered by the partner's cookie policy, and the partner should ask for your consent. We can't read them. See How we make money for the list of partners.
If this changes
If we add analytics to see which guides are useful, we will list every cookie on this page first. Any cookie that is not strictly necessary will only be set after you agree to it in a banner, and you will be able to change your mind at any time.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies on partner sites may stop them from crediting us for a booking, but it won't change the price you pay.
